Interesting Animal Facts #3 :: Fish that gobble up birds

Do fish really eat birds?

                      Normally large predatory fish feed upon other fishes

 however it seems  strange but it is true, some of the large predatory

 fish can capture birds and gobble up them. Also, some fishes can

 scavenge dead birds.

 

Examples:

1. Arowanas eat small birds




                      Arowanas can eat small birds and they can even capture

 snakes. They  also eat rabbits, frogs, insects, smaller fish, and

 crustaceans. Arowanas are also related to the arapaima.

2. Muskellunges eat ducklings


                    Muskellunge are very large pikes and are the largest of

 their family. Their diet doesn’t stop with fish, they eat birds, mammals,

 and frogs. They like to eat ducks, especially ducklings. Some large

 muskies can capture full-grown waterfowl (duck, goose, swans, etc.,).

3. Goliath tigerfish snatches swallow while it is flying

                   Goliath tigerfish were the first fish to eat a flying barn

 swallow.
